We love Grandview for it's amazing teachers, faculty, and rockstar parents who voluteer their valuable time. How many schools are there that the children plant their own garden and than get to make a fabulous salad with their own produce to eat for lunch. Their are sooo many other reasons aswell.

I agree that GV pushes the kids pretty hard and part of that reason is for high test scores. BUT, the kids learn a lot and they are sponges so in the long run, what's the harm?

Grand View is an amazing elementary school because it offers so many exceptional programs for our children to learn through. Growing Great, Grades of Green, Young At Art, Class Performances, Field Trips, etc. My children have been inspired by the teachers and staff to do more than they thought they were capable of and enjoy not only the challenge but the reward of new knowledge. My family is lucky to live in such a wonderful community where education is valued and supported.

As far as public schools are concerned, I would rate Grand View as top of its class. The school has all of the components necessary allow kids to be at their best -- an amazing location, large play areas, caring teachers, dynamic leadership, an actively-involved parent group, and other programs that give students opportunities to expand their knowledge base. Our family has found the teachers, staff, and administration to be very responsive, responsible, and proactive in terms of meeting my child's needs. We send our youngest in to kindergarten without worry since we know he too will be well educated and cared for.

Grand View is focusing on preparing students to pass state tests rather than teaching them to learn and love learning. The quality of teachers has dropped dramatically as the school struggles with the increase in special needs education.

My son loved being a Grand View Gator. Situated in the Sand Section of Manhattan Beach, this is a beautiful Art Deco style school filled with happy kids, excellent teachers, and many extracurricular programs. Grand View also hosts the local Cub Scout pack, and sponsors the annual Gator Run, an excellent fundraiser for the school which draws 1000+ participants every year.

Test scores and behavior reward programs are the focus of Grand View. Grand View does not encourage individuality. The up-side is that we have clean bathrooms, part-time science and full time PE.

Grandview is a wonderful school with caring, thoughtful and smart teachers who truly enjoy our kids. There is a new principle who has been making changes. Overall good. We are very happy at Grandview and highly recommend this school.

Grandview is a great school. My kids are getting a fantastic education. They love to talk about the PE teacher Ms. Wood, and the librarian Mrs. Snively, the Science Lab, Computer Lab. I'm so proud that they are excited about learning. The New Principal is very involved. The parents are also very involved. The Ed foundation and PTA are really helping add to the kids education and experience.

GrandView is a great school with a great principle and teachers. Even though it doesn't have art or music the teahcers still teach the students those activitites. GrandView ISN'T only interested in the kids grad scores they want every student to be doing well in schol

Grand View is like many public schools in California. It struggles to educate its students with declining funds from the state. Consequently, many important programs have been lost. Limited P.E. classes and no art or music programs. Led by a very mediocre principal, Grand View is not interested in educating the 'whole child.' It is more interested in test scores. This is not the kind of education that will prepare our children for an ever-changing and complex world.
